My Battle with Stage IV Lung Cancer

Robert Karjala passed away on August 23, 2000, and his webpages are still important for their treatment details. He had lost his favorite oncologist (who was fired by HMO for ordering too many expensive tests) and regretted not being more forceful in having a spinal tumor treated. Bob Karjala's final gift was admonition that patients assume responsibility by learning as much as possible about their illness and tests, proposed treatments, alternative treatment options and follow-up on suspicious or possible tumors. Thank you, Bob, for touching so many lives.
